On October 19, 2026, in Samarkand, the State Assets Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan and U.S. financial company Auerbach Grayson signed a Memorandum of Understanding during the C5+1 High Level Business Sessions.
The Memorandum aims to attract international investors, including U.S. investment firms and institutional investors, to Uzbekistan’s state asset privatization processes and promote the country’s investment opportunities in international financial markets.

Under the Memorandum, Auerbach Grayson will assist the Agency in identifying potential foreign investors interested in participating in privatization projects, establishing business relationships with them, and promoting Uzbekistan’s investment opportunities. Particular attention will be given to expanding engagement with U.S. institutional investors and financial institutions.
During the event, Sohibjon Murodov, Director of the State Assets Agency, met with Nikhil Bhatnagar, President of Auerbach Grayson. The parties discussed the economic reforms underway in Uzbekistan, promising areas for state asset privatization, and ways to further improve mechanisms for attracting foreign investment.
Founded in New York in 1993, Auerbach Grayson specializes in providing brokerage services to institutional investors and facilitating their access to international capital markets. The company has prior experience working with Uzbekistan, having served as one of the joint bookrunners for the international listing of shares in the Uzbekistan National Investment Fund (UzNIF) on the London and Tashkent stock exchanges.
The signing of the Memorandum lays the foundation for practical cooperation aimed at attracting new foreign investors to Uzbekistan’s privatization projects, expanding the participation of U.S. investment capital, and strengthening the country’s position in international financial markets.
