The State Environmental Supervision Inspectorate will be responsible for identifying such violations and holding individuals accountable.
The Senate has approved the law "On amendments and additions to the Administrative Liability Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the establishment of mandatory requirements to prevent the raising of dust and sand particles at construction sites."
According to the law, a fine will be imposed on officials for such violations in the amount of 10 times the basic calculation amount (BCA). If the violation is repeated within a year after the administrative penalty, the fine will increase to 50 times the BCA.
It is noted that an average of 50 tons of dust and sand particles are lifted into the air each year from 500 square meters of open construction site.
Urban planning regulations include mandatory requirements to prevent the formation of dust and sand on construction sites and access roads, including the use of hanging sprinklers and water sprayers.
