18 November 2024

November 18th is the day the State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan was adopted.

On November 18, 1991, the Supreme Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan officially adopted the new state flag of Uzbekistan.

The design of the flag consists of the following elements:

  • Blue color — symbolizes the vast sky and earth, as well as peace and tranquility.
  • White color — represents purity, goodness, and honesty.
  • Green color — reflects nature, growth, and stability.
  • Red stripes — symbolize the national, spiritual, and cultural values of the country.

Additionally, the flag features 12 stars and a crescent, which symbolize the territorial integrity of Uzbekistan and the unity of its people.

This day is celebrated as a national holiday, with events aimed at honoring Uzbekistan's national symbols — the flag, the coat of arms, and the anthem.
