On November 18, 1991, the Supreme Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan officially adopted the new state flag of Uzbekistan.
The design of the flag consists of the following elements:
- Blue color — symbolizes the vast sky and earth, as well as peace and tranquility.
- White color — represents purity, goodness, and honesty.
- Green color — reflects nature, growth, and stability.
- Red stripes — symbolize the national, spiritual, and cultural values of the country.
Additionally, the flag features 12 stars and a crescent, which symbolize the territorial integrity of Uzbekistan and the unity of its people.
This day is celebrated as a national holiday, with events aimed at honoring Uzbekistan's national symbols — the flag, the coat of arms, and the anthem.
